
Samika began playing the violin, aged three, in England. She was admitted to the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMDP) at the age of 16. There, Samika received her first prize diplomas of violin superior (2005), string quartet superior (2006), chamber music superior (2009) and the highest score in the Master degree of violin with « Très Bien à l'unanimité et félicitation du jury »in 2010.
Samika is currently studying with Pavel Vernikov in Fiesole (Italy), and the baroque violin with Patrick Bismuth in Paris Conservatory (CRR).
She studied the violin (classic) with G.Poulet, O.Charlier, M.Hentz, S.Gessner, T.Wanami, E. Katona, S.Suzuki, and chamber music with: V.Mendelssohn, I.Golan, C.Ivaldi, A.Meunier, J.McManama, M.Coppey, Ysaye Quartet. Samika also had the privilege to participate in masterclasses by J-J Kantorow, S.Accardo, I.Gitlis, Z.Bron, P.Amoyal, I.Haendel, J.Mouillère, G.Pauk, M.Strauss, the Maggini Quartet, W.Levin, P.Katz.
Samika participated in her first competition at the age of nine in the All Japan Classical Music Competition where she was awarded second prize (no first prize). She won the gold medal in the National Competition "Festival of Festivals" in the U.K. in 1996 and was one of the string-finalists in the Audi competition in1997. She was awarded the "Promifi" prize at the Epernay violin competition 2001, the First Prize at the Avignon International Violin Competition in 2001, the prize for best interpretation of a contemporary work in the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition in 2006, and has received many other prestigious awards in the UK and in France.
Samika recorded her first solo CD of the « Six Sonatas of Eugene Ysaye for violin solo » under the label of Polymnie (France), and was selected as the choice of the month in the Strad Magazine of January 2011.
Samika played with the English Chamber Orchestra at St. John's Smith Square in London at the age of twelve for a charity concert dedicated to fighting childhood leukaemia. Ever since, she performs regularly for many charity concerts, such as "Live music now!" concerts founded by Yehudi Menuhin, concerts for victimes in Sumatra, Haiti, and for Japan 2010.
She performed with the English Chamber Orchestra, Paris Conservatoire Orchestra, Avignon Province Opera Symphonie Orchestra, and Yamagata Philharmonic Orchestra.
Samika is also an active chamber musician. She founded the Isé Quartet and the Ensemble Monsolo (ex-Quintette Monsolo), in both of which she leads the first violin. With these ensembles, she has recorded several discs, amongst a CD of « Onslow » with the string quintet Op38 (La Balle), and the piano quintet Op70 with the pianiste François-Joël Thiollier. This recording was given 5 Diapason in 2009.
Samika is invited to numerous music festivals, as soloist or chamber musician, such as in Pablo Casals Prades Music Festival, Les Amis de Mozart Festival, St Tropez music festival, Miyazaki Music Festival, Music Festivals in Mallorca, Easter Music festival of Deauville, etc.
